Adding and Organizing Pages
Pages can easily be added and organized on your site using the website sections and pages tool.
Pages can easily be organized or added in the navigation menu of the website via the "Edit Site Page Structure" page. To navigate to this page, click the settings button at the top of the website and select "Edit Site Page Structure".
On the edit site structure page, pages will be listed out in the layout that they appear within the websites navigation menu. All pages will fall under a section, the sections are the top level label that shows in the navigation menu and the pages under that section are the pages that appear in the menu drop down when navigating the website menu. Sections can be added to the menu via the "Add New Menu Section" button in the top right, pages can be added to the sections via the "Add a page to the section" button for each section.
Sections
When adding a section, options are available to add a section title, set a status for if the section should appear in the menu or be suspended and security options if you want the page to be public or password protected. To edit an existing section, simply click on the section name.
Pages
When adding or editing a page, a number of page detail options are available.
Page Type
- Page type can be set to Website Page to add a standard website page or external to add a page that links out to a different website. If you are adding an external link page, the Link Address option will appear where you can enter the link you want the page to go to.
Page Title
- The page title will be the page name that displays in the navigation menu of the website for this page.
Page Model
- Page model allows you to select from a variety of existing CFS page models that you can edit as needed or use a blank page for your new page if desired.
Status
- The status option lets you toggle the page to be visible on the site or suspended if you want it to be hidden from the live site. Suspending a page is useful if you are working on a draft of a new page but are not ready for it to be on the live site yet.
Security
- The security option lets you toggle the page to be publicly accessible or password/login protected.
Search Engines
- The search engines tab gives you the ability to customize the meta data for a specific page. Page title, description and keywords can all be customized. These meta data properties are used by search engines to better understand the content on your website page and rank it appropriately in search results.
Advanced HTML
- The advanced tab allows you to add custom HTML code to a page header. It is not advised to add anything in this section unless you understand how to properly format HTML code. Improperly formatted HTML can cause your site to not work properly.
Once you have made all your changes to the website sections and pages, make sure to click the green save button in the overview area to save the changes to the live website.
