Under the obituary settings section, a variety of site-wide settings and preferences are available for obituary pages. This section allows you to configure the default preferences for various components and functions of your obituary pages.
To navigate to the obituary settings page, click the settings button at the top of the website and select "Preferences and Settings".
Select the obituaries tab to view obituary settings.
There are many settings and configuration options available under this section. Here is a list of all the options and what each option does:
Terminology
The terminology settings allow you to customize the verbiage used on obituary pages. Options are available to customize the word obituary and the verbiage used for the guestbook or tribute wall section.
Facebook Obituary Description
This option allows you to customize the description that will display when the obituary is posted on Facebook. By default if left blank, Facebook posts of an obituary will read "Share memories & support the family".
Feature Selections
Under the feature selections area, the local media submission option can be enabled for the system and the fundraising feature can be enabled.
Condolences
The condolences setting gives the option to set condolence posts to require approval or post automatically without approval.
Photo Albums
The photo albums setting gives you the ability to enable or disable photo albums on obituary pages.
Candles
The candles settings allow you to enable or disable the candle feature for guestbooks. An option is also available to make candle posts require approval or not before posting.
Photographs
The photographs setting allows you to set if photo posts require approval or not before being posted.
Donation Pledges
This setting allows you to enable or disable the donation pledge feature. This feature allows visitors to pledge a donation to a charity suggested by the family, or any other charity in the charity list. Pledge details are emailed directly to you.
Tribute Videos
The Tribute Videos setting allows you to set where videos will post on the obituary page. Options are available to have the video post beneath the obituary text or in a separate tab.
Obituary Page Options
Under this section an option is available to toggle service details to list below the sidebar buttons on obituary pages.
Family Logon Default Settings
This section allows you to set whether you want the family logon feature to be enabled or disabled on new obituaries by default.
Obituary List Order
This section allows you to set how you would like your obituaries to be sorted on your obituary list page. Obituaries can be sorted by service date or deceased date.
Condolence/Candle List Order
This section allows you to set the order you want condolence and candle posts on the guestbook to appear. Posts can be ordered in chronological or reverse chronological order.
Announcing Edits to Obituaries
This section allows you to set the default announcement settings for obituaries. Announcements go out to obituary alert subscribers.
Default Obituary Photo
This setting allows you to add an image that will be used as the default image on any obituary when an image is not added.
Product Line Selection
This section allows you to enable different product lines on the website.
Service Tab
The services tab section allows you to set where the services tab will display on obituary pages.
