Blogs

Blogs can be easily created and managed on Funeral Tech sites using the Blog tool, which is accessed via the admin dashboard.

To navigate to the blog section of the admin side of the website, click on the "Blogs" tab in the page options.

Creating a Blog

On the Blogs page, you will need to create a blog before any articles can be added. This is done by hitting the green "Create" button.

The Blog Properties pop-up menu will appear that prompts you to enter the name of the blog
(required), metadate (for SEO purposes), and select whether you’d like the comment section to feature a CAPTCHA to help prevent spam. Click “Save” once you have completed this information.

Once your Blog has been created, click on the Blog name and then click on the "Edit" button to be brought to the Blog editing screen.


On the edit page of a blog, any blog articles created under that blog will be listed out. Blog articles can be created by clicking the green "Create" button.

Existing blog articles can be edited by highlighting the article from the list and clicking the edit button, they can also be deleted using the red delete button.

If you ever need to activate or deactivate a blog, you can use the activate and deactivate buttons at the top of the blog page.

Writing a Blog Article

The Blog editing screen is fairly straightforward. You simply need to put a title of the post and the name of the author in their respective fields. If a name has been assigned to your user account, it will automatically fill.

You will also need to select a publish date for the blog. You can either set it to the future using the calendar, or you can set it to the past or current date to publish immediately.

You can select a banner for the blog using your Media files, though this is not required to
proceed. The actual contents of the blog are edited just like any word processing tool. The text edit tools for the blog are the same as the tools used in the site editor.

Make sure to use the save or save and quit buttons in the top right corner when you are done writing your article, or if you need to save it to draft to come back to.

Adding Blogs To The Website

There are two ways to add your blogs to a website page. When creating a new website page, the widget page type will allow you to select "All Blogs". This will add a widget page that features all your blog articles.

If you just want to add your blog articles to one section of a page, the widget content box type can be used on a page to add a blog listing widget. Simply click the content box type and set it to the gear icon for widgets, then select blog listing from the widgets list.

This will give you the option to set how many blog entries you want to display in the list and if you want entries to show from all blogs or only specific blogs.
