Managing Condolences

Condolence messages of all types and donations can easily be edited, reviewed, printed, approved or deleted  via the manage options on a record.

Each tribute page offers options for visitors to leave condolence messages, post images, add gestures and post memories. These items can all be managed from the administrative section of the website by clicking on the associated record and selecting “Manage”. This opens up a drop down list for the various different items.

Managing Condolence Messages

Clicking on “Condolences” in the drop-down will bring you to the Manage Condolences page. From here, you have the ability to see all condolences posted, public or private. You also have a few options as to how to treat them.

If you click on a condolence and select “Edit”, you will be taken to the editing window for the selected condolence.

The Edit condolence pop-up window is where you can edit the text of the condolence or mark it (or un-mark it) as private.

If you highlight a condolence and click “Remove”, the condolence will be removed from the system and cannot be recovered.

If you highlight a condolence and click “Review”, you will be brought to the Review screen. Like the “Edit” screen, this will allow you to make changes to the condolence. It also allows you to delete the condolence, or block the visitor’s IP Address and then delete the condolence. This is most often useful when a condolence has been reported as inappropriate or spam. You can also record the IP Address incase it is needed.

Any flagged or reported condolences will be marked as red in the condolence list. These condolences will not be visible to the public unless manually re-approved.

The print button on the manage condolences page will allow you to print all the condolences for that record.

**All of these functions to manage condolences are also available to the family if the family email login is being used.

Managing Images

All the same steps from the managing condolences section above apply to images. To navigate to the images page for a record, simply select the image option from the manage drop down list. The print option is not available for image posts.

Managing Gestures

All the same steps from the managing condolences section above apply to gestures. To navigate to the gestures page for a record, simply select the gestures option from the manage drop down list. The print option is not available for gesture posts.

Managing Tribute Links

Tribute Links are a special type of link that can be added to any Tribute page. They allow the user to label the link how they like for it to appear on the Tribute page, then set the URL accordingly. The link will then appear as it's own tab on the tribute page.

From the Tribute Link page, simply click “Add Link” to be brought to the window below. In the fields, fill out the information as needed. The label will be how it appears on the tribute (I.e. Ken’s Fundraiser) and the URL is the link it will lead to (i.e. www.funeraltech.com).

Managing Memories

All the same steps from the managing condolences section above apply to memories. To navigate to the memories page for a record, simply select the memories option from the manage drop down list. The print and edit options are not available for memories.

Managing Donations

On the manage donations page, all donors will be listed who made donations for the corresponding record. You will have a few options available:

  • Edit the text of any donation message.
  • Delete donations. Note that this does not undo any payments already made through
    credit-card processing.
  • Print individualized donations by clicking on the donor’s name and then clicking “Print
    Donation”.
  • Print All Donations.
  • Print Unprinted Donations (if some have already been printed).
  • Download a CSV of the donations made.

Manage Approvals

The Manage Approvals page is available in the green toolbar at the top of the death records page.

The Manage Approvals page will show all pending approvals across all records. This includes unactioned reported condolences.
