On Tribute Websites, there are a few different ways that you can add donation links for charities. Options are available to add direct hyperlinks to charity websites, or to utilize a platform such as My Tribute Gift.
Adding A Hyperlink In The Obituary Text
A common way to add a charity donation link to an obituary page is to add the hyperlink to the charity website directly in the obituary text. To do this, navigate to the obituary text editor on the edit obituary page, highlight the text or the URL that you want to create a hyperlink for and click the link icon in the text toolbar.
The "Insert Link" window will pop up where you can paste the URL into the URL section. Once you have the URL pasted, click the ok button to add the link to the text.
Once the link has been added you will see the text change to blue with an underline to indicate that the hyperlink is in place.
After adding the hyperlink, make sure to save the obituary changes using the "Save & Publish" button at the bottom of the page.
Adding Charity Donation Links Using The Donation Section
Charity links can be added to the donations section of obituary pages using the Charity Donations section on the edit obituary page. When on the edit page of an obituary, scroll down until you see the Charity Donations section. Two options are available to select from, one called Direct to Charity and one called My Tribute Gift.
**If you do not see these options, or if one option is missing, it is because the setting for that option is not enabled in the website settings. If you need one of these settings enabled, Tribute Website support will be able to assist with enabling the settings.
Direct to Charity
The Direct to Charity option allows for a charity link to be added to the donations section of the obituary page.
If Direct to Charity is selected, you will see a dropdown option that says "Select Memorial Contribution" where you can select the charity you want to add to the page. 
Any charities that have been added to your website's Location Library will display here for you to select from.
Once you have selected the charity from the list, click the "Add Contribution" button to add the charity to the page.
Once the charity has been added, you will see the name and website link for the charity listed under Memorial Contributions, along with options to edit the charity or remove it.
Make sure to click the "Save & Publish" button at the bottom of the page once you are done to ensure that your changes appear on the obituary page.
If a charity is not currently added to your Location Library to select from, you can click the "Add Charity" button above the dropdown selector to add a new charity.
This will open up a section where you can add the name and website link for a charity. Once you enter the information and click the save button, the new charity will be added to your website as an option.
When users click the donate button on an obituary page, and the charity link is set up using the Direct to Charity option, they will be taken directly to the charities website.
**When using the Direct to Charity option, a maximum of 4 charities can be added to the donations section of the obituary page.
My Tribute Gift
The My Tribute Gift option in the Charity Donations section will add a link to the obituary page to donate to charities via the My Tribute Gift platform. 
When using the My Tribute Gift option, you will be able to add preferred charities from their database or, by default, a general link will be added that takes users to the My Tribute Gift page where they can select which charity they want to donate to.
To add a preferred charity, simply click the "Browse Available Charities" button and search for the charity you want to set as your preferred charity.
When users click the donate button on the obituary page, and the donation link is set up with My Tribute Gift, they will be taken to the My Tribute Gift page where they can browse charities and make donations directly through My Tribute gift via Credit Card, PayPal or Venmo.
**When using My Tribute Gift for donations, a maximum of two preferred charities can be added to the page.
