Spam Protection

The spam protection page allows you to view and make changes to IP addresses that are blocked from posting on the website.

The Spam Protection section shows who is blocked on the site due to a post on a tribute wall being either marked as spam or the author being blocked.

Blocked IP Addresses

An IP Address or Email Address can be manually added to the blocked list by clicking the Block New IP button at the top of the page.

The blocked list will display the IP address and email address for whoever is blocked. If you need to remove someone from the list, clicking the unmark button in the actions column will remove them from the blocked list. Clicking the edit button allows for you to edit the IP address or email that is currently listed for that person.

There are two ways to mark a user to be blocked:

Block Author

In the approvals section of the dashboard, when you preview a condolence post you will see an option to block author. This will mark the author of the post to be banned at the IP and email address level.

Mark As Spam

In the Edit Comments area of an obituary, there will be an option when you have a comment open to Mark as Spam. This will also ban the user at the IP and email address level.
