Surcharging on Tribute Pay

For customers opting to surcharge credit card payments, our newly-released surcharging feature automatically calculates and logs surcharges when processing a Tribute Pay payment. Please contact your Account Manager to activate this feature. 

To Make a Tribute Pay payment with a Surcharge

Making a Tribute Pay payment with surcharging is no different than processing a normal Tribute Pay payment. Enter the *base* payment amount (no surcharge included) and the system will automatically apply the surcharge rate set up on your Tribute Pay account. 

The surcharge will be dictated by the payment method type.

When Credit Card is selected, a surcharge will apply. It will be displayed in the transaction breakdown, along with your surcharge disclosure statement. When Debit/Prepaid Card is selected, no surcharge will apply. 

The record of payment will display the breakdown of the payment as well:

Surcharged amounts log as an adjustment to the case. The increased payment amount (gross plus surcharge) is offset on the contract by the surcharge adjustment. 



Reversing a Surcharged Transaction

 Reversing a Tribute Pay payment with surcharging is no different than processing a reversal on a Tribute Pay transaction. Enter the *base* amount of the reversal, and the surcharge will auto calculate (proportionally for partial reversals).
